THE DO'S
Do start looking for a professional artist at least 6 months before the big day.
Do put aside your realistic budget for your beauty. There will be a higher price tag if you expect the make up artist to remain with you all the time. Therefore, try offering the artist more clients to work in your wedding to make it worth their time commitment
Get comfortable with your artist style. For instance, review their portfolio and also consider the recommendation from previous customer. Besides, you should do one on one consultation and trial make up session
Do have your outfit with you when you are setting up trial session
Do take your dupatta/chunni to your hair trial, especially when you need to have your head covered during the ceremony
Take pictures as your references, but you have to remember that every looks will have to be translated to reflect your features, hair and also the skin tone
Do remember that colours look different in different lighting situations therefore, don't judge your make up by looking it in sunlight because the make up will turn out to be too bold

DONT'S
Don't attempt to do your own hair and make up. the bride tend to be nervous those last few hours before the wedding event
Besides, don't ask for your best friend neither your auntie to do it for you if they do not have the expertise and capabilities in this field. This is mainly because the result might not turn out to be as expected because these people doesn't really know about the lighting and other factors that should be taken care of
Do not show up at your trial session without taking care of grooming. This includes the shape of the brows, facial hair, the condition of the skin, hair and etc
Do not opt for a trendy look for your wedding but if you are eager to do so, do it on the night of the sangeet.
Avoid on using dark eyes and nude lips for your biggest event because nude lips will not turn out nicely in the photograph
Do not go with an all out shimmery look to replicate the look you often see on the magazine cover as it will only make you look like a disco ball. Instead of that, keep the shimmer and sheen for your eyes and a bit on your cheekbone
